On the 14th April, 2022, SP Investment Inc. (“Claimant”) commenced proceedings against four (4) parties including the Motor Tug “Norabel” (“M/T Norabel”) and the Barge “Trinity Transporter” (“Trinity Transporter”). On the said date, by Warrant of Arrest issued by the Supreme Court of Guyana, the Claimant arrested the M/T Norabel and Trinity Transporter.

The Owners of the arrested vessels thereafter retained the services of our firm and by Pre-Action Letter issued on the 23rd April, 2022, Ms. Nyree Alfonso wrote to the Claimant’s Attorneys-at-Law demanding the release of the M/T Norabel and Trinity Transporter from judicial arrest, claiming, inter alia, that the vessels were wrongfully arrested and that the Claimant had no cause of action as against the said vessels and/or their Owners.

On the said 23rd April, 2022, the Claimant, inter alia, agreed to release the M/T Norabel and Trinity Transporter from judicial arrest. The release of the said vessels was effected on the 25th April, 2022.
